Frequently Asked Questions

The Open Day Programme will be available a few weeks before Open Day and will contain information about what zones will be set up and where these will be located on campus. To access the programme and plan what info sessions you want to attend, download the WaikatoUni app. The programme will also be available online.

It is completely free to attend. All you have to do is register for the event you are interested in.

Free WiFi will be available. Select the ‘waikato’ network to access WiFi.

The Pā, will transform the on-campus experience for students, staff, visitors and the broader community.
The Pā will include a new main entrance to the campus, a student hub (including food outlets and social learning spaces), and a new University marae. The Pā will also provide the campus with renewed capacity for University and community events and activities.

The Pā is currently under construction and is due to open at the end of 2022.

Prospective students, and their families and whānau, can talk to the Future Students Team about subject and degree choices, University Entrance requirements and pathways to study. They can also provide information on the enrolment process, scholarships, accommodation, costs and support services.

Appointments are available via phone, Zoom or face-to-face (in either Hamilton or Tauranga) between 9am and 4pm on weekdays. You can book an appointment here: www.waikato.ac.nz/study/student-advisors

Virtual Open Day is held on 17 August 2022 and offers the same benefits as an on-campus event but is delivered online. At Virtual Open Day you will be welcomed to the university by key staff, hear from students about their experiences and learn about University of Waikato courses and support services.

At our Hamilton campus, limited free parking will be available on campus in Gate 1 and Gate 2B, off Knighton Road and in Gate 10, off Silverdale Road.

At our Tauranga CBD campus, parking is available on the street or in paid public car parks.

Please note, we are expecting a large number of vehicles, therefore we recommend carpooling or using public transport.
